Celtic back on top

Ange Postecoglou has pledged that is side will “be a hard team to stop” after a convincing 3-1 away win at Livingston today. The victory restores their three-point Scottish Premiership lead.

Despite missing an earlier penalty, Celtic took the lead when striker Daizen Maeda headed in the opener from a disputed corner.

A Nicky Devlin own goal and James Forrest’s fine finish made it 3-0 to the visitors.

Not even Andrew Shinnie’s close-range reply for the home side could not deny Celtic a first win at the Tony Macaroni Arena since 2007.

Postecoglou went on to say that it was “Great to win because obviously it’s a difficult place to come and get three points,” and “We’ve got to keep getting stronger and I think we are. We’re in a good space to keep getting stronger to the end.”

Livingston manager, David Martindale was less than complimentary about the performance of the referee Nick Walsh, suggesting that he had got decisions wrong in the lead up to two Celtic goals. His side passed up a chance to reclaim fourth spot from Hibernian.
