Liverpool in good health ahead of trip to Villareal in Champions League semi-final

Liverpool have no new injury concerns ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final, second leg match at Villareal next week. The reds came through their weekend win at Newcastle unscathed with only Roberto Firminho still unavailable with a foot injury.

Meanwhile, Unai Emery has some injury concerns with Gerard Moreno, Raul Albiol, and Arnaut Danjuma facing late fitness tests. He has admitted that Villareal would need to play a “perfect game” if they are to overhaul the two goal deficit from the first leg.

Liverpool hold a 2-0 lead over the Spaniards, heading into the second leg but Jurgen Klopp has said that his side will be taking “nothing for granted.” As far as the German is concerned, it is only “half-time” and the Anfield side must “ignore the result from the first leg”. Klopp went on to remind fans that the game in Villareal “will be tough, Champions League semi-finals should be tough. This will not be easy.”

Liverpool, however, go into the second leg as strong favourites to progress to the final in France where they will meet the winners of the other semi-final, either Manchester City or Real Madrid.
