Notes from the track #3 – Chelmsford City 12th July

Nothing beats being at the track to accurately assess a horse’s performance. These notes are selected from the ones that I am using personally to help me provide better value tips to my readers.

These revised ratings and associated notes are designed to be used alongside other information that I hold and not in isolation. Please feel free to use these notes and my unofficial ratings (pR rating) – if you feel that they might be useful to you in some way.

Artician was slowly away and held up at back before finding room on the inside off the final bend. Stayed on and only beaten by a couple of lengths. A pR 79 rating may see this one competitive over 1 mile and I would look to back below that mark (79) if fairly treated in the weights. I’d be interested in seeing Artician upped to 1m 2f. Went down to post a touch keenly though – so bet late or factor that into your risk. (1 Mile) 4th of 7 (4 lengths) (AW)

Karibana soon led on the rail. Dropped to third before being presented quite late in the race at the 2f pole. Ran wide on the final bend but found space to launch a challenge.  Blinkered for the second time. Stayed on very strongly going away to win by 3 lengths. I’ve notched this one up to pR 97 from OR 93. Could be opposed above OR 98 against similar rivals. (1 Mile) 1st of 7 (3 lengths) (AW)
