Another £10,000 is up for grabs in Star Sports Galaxy Marathon at Oxford Stadium on Friday night

A Mystical Love (L Pearce) may well go off favourite in the Category 1 final of the Star Sports Galaxy Marathon at Oxford Stadium on Friday night with the top three greyhounds from each of last week’s two semi-finals having advanced to this week’s final.

Having finished more than 6 lengths ahead of the well-fancied Beach Babe (T M Levers) in the semi-final and a country mile ahead of the highly rated Mohican Tara who finished fourth, A Mystical Love looks to have every chance in the £10,000 showpiece, having recorded a calculated time of 53.49.

The third qualifier from the first semi-final, Castell Mill (R Short) will run out of Trap 3. The gruelling 847m trip may just be too much for her in this company.

In the second semi-final, Night Time Danny (S Raynor) popped the lids to lead all the way in a calculated time of 53.61. A similar performance could see him in the mix from Trap 2.

Oxford’s own Matthew Dartnall will hope that Droopy’s Jungle can recapture some of her form from early March when she recorded the second fastest time of the field.

Ower Smasher (J Harvey) may go off as the outsider in this final but she is not without hope based on final times.

This is set to be an intriguing stayers’ contest. Without the inimitable Space Jet in the line-up, both Beach Babe and A Mystical Love will be fancying their chances of scooping the prize.
