Romford raider roars into Hove for the Coral Standard on Thursday

Connections of Bubbly Simba will hope the trip is made worthwhile with victory in this renewal of The Coral Standard at Hove tomorrow evening.

Paul Young will be grateful for the inside trap for his railer. The 2 year old fawn dog likes to hug the inside. Recent defeats at Romford indicate that he has plenty of early but is sometimes too keen to get to the rail. This shouldn’t be a problem at Hove tomorrow, running out of Trap 1.

Any doubts over Bubbly Simba‘s stamina for the Hove 500m should be erased by memories of his Open win at Towcester in October 22 over the same distance.

The often slow to fire, Trigger Point, may prove to be a popular adversary with the punters. Seamus Cahill’s fast finisher is sure to go close if he can avoid trouble running out of Trap 6. He is a 5-timer this year and was unlucky in running last time out.

Of the other runners, Gone to Rome (B Green) may be able to put it down to the others if trapping well.

Marine (N McEllistrim) is very capable on final times but may not possess the early pace needed in this company and from Trap 3.

Typhoid Mary (N McEllistrim) is the least likely of Norah McEllistrim’s entries to be in the mix based on times. She will need plenty of luck in running to feature from Trap 4.

Icaal Frankie (B Green) is another greyhound that will need luck in running if he is to feature. The black and white dog is not renowned at this level and has something to find on the stopwatch.
